Position: Electrical Estimator
Salary: £45,000- £55,000
Location: Nottingham
Contract: Permanent
Bonuses: Pension, 25 days Holiday Allowance plus BH, WFH
Think Recruitment are currently looking for Electrical Estimator for a leading provider of mechanical and electrical company. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of mechanical and electrical projects, preparing detailed proposals, and collaborating with the project management and sales team to ensure successful project delivery.
Duties will include:
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
- Evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that everything required to successfully bid and win the project is understood and clearly communicated.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with the project and develop strategies to address them.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive tender packages, ensuring all inclusions and exclusions are clearly detailed.
- Collaborate with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain accurate and competitive pricing.
- Conduct site visits and meetings with clients to discuss project requirements and scope.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Review and compare sub-contractor and supplier quotes, negotiating where necessary to secure the best possible terms.
- Support project and sales managers and the wider team in delivering successful projects on time and within budget.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and sub-contractors.
- Participate in post-tender negotiations and handover meetings.
- Continuously monitor the progress of projects to ensure alignment with initial estimates and adjust forecasts as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 years+ experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a similar role within the electrical contracting industry.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIBSE) is advantageous.
